One page per compound, 75 in all, with the references in plain sight. The aim is easy to state and hard to find: that you can tell what backing a claim actually has, and check it yourself. That is why all 451 references carry their PMID. We publish no dosages, and the reason is further down.
How to read the evidence status
- Human trials available several studies in people, randomised or meta-analyses. This is the highest level you will see here.
- Limited human evidence some study in people exists, but small, old, from a single group or without independent replication.
- Preclinical evidence only everything known comes from cells or animals. It has never been tested in a human being.
- No published literature not one peer-reviewed paper exists. That something is sold does not mean it has been studied.
Metabolic · 21
Metabolism is not a single lever. Talk about metabolic compounds usually collapses three separate mechanisms into one word. Appetite regulation is one. How well cells respond to insulin is another, and largely independent of the first. Mobilising stored fat is a third. A compound may act on one and leave the other two untouched, so knowing which one is the difference between understanding a molecule and reciting its name.

Tissue repair happens in phases, not all at once: an initial inflammation that is actually useful, the building of new tissue, and then its remodelling, which can take months. Compounds studied in this area relate to one of those phases. None of them replaces rest or rehabilitation, and that is precisely the most common mistake people make when reading about them.
Cognitive · 9
The brain adapts by forming and strengthening connections. Neurotransmitters take part in that conversation, along with factors that help neurons survive and grow. Compounds in this group are studied for their relationship with focus, memory, mood or neuroprotection — and it is worth saying plainly that this is the area where claims are most exaggerated and where human evidence is thinnest.
Hormonal/Sexual · 18
Hormones work in axes: a signal from the brain tells a gland to release another hormone, and so on down the chain, with brakes that shut the process off. Intervening at one point has consequences both upstream and downstream. That is why this is the group where professional assessment stops being a recommendation and becomes essential.
Longevity/Cellular · 10
Two very different things live under the same label here: serious research into mitochondria, cellular senescence and DNA repair, and a market of promises built on studies that were never replicated. Telling them apart is most of the work, and this is the area where it matters most to look at who signed each study.
Aesthetic · 6
In aesthetics the route of administration decides almost everything. A peptide that works in a fibroblast culture may not cross intact skin, and then the formulation matters more than the active ingredient. That is why two products listing the same ingredient can give completely different results.
Immune · 5
The immune system is not something you turn "up" or "down": it is regulated. A compound that raised the response without control would be a problem, not a benefit, which is why the correct word is modulation. For people with autoimmune or inflammatory conditions, this stops being a technical nuance.
Knowing what it is is not knowing what to do
