The ground it plays on
Two very different things live under the same label here: serious research into mitochondria, cellular senescence and DNA repair, and a market of promises built on studies that were never replicated. Telling them apart is most of the work, and this is the area where it matters most to look at who signed each study.

It also remains to be learned what happens when senescent cells are cleared from a whole organism over years, because those cells take part in wound closure and in keeping fibrosis in check, and in some animal models removing them made the condition worse.

A research compound, with no approval from any agency. The successors being developed by Cleara Biotech remain preclinical. It is not listed by name on the 2026 WADA Prohibited List, although category S0 covers substances with no approval; anyone who competes under anti-doping rules should confirm its status with their federation.
