The ground it plays on
Two very different things live under the same label here: serious research into mitochondria, cellular senescence and DNA repair, and a market of promises built on studies that were never replicated. Telling them apart is most of the work, and this is the area where it matters most to look at who signed each study.

The closest thing consists of EX VIVO studies on lymphocytes taken from subjects aged 75-88, plus narrative reviews by the same group summarising supposed clinical results without verifiable primary data.
The limitation that matters most
Practically the entire literature comes from the same Russian group and appears in journals with very limited circulation, often with only an English abstract. There is no independent replication and no pharmacokinetic data explaining how an injected dipeptide would reach the cell nucleus intact.
