How to read this page. It is written so you can check it: every claim about evidence hangs from a reference with its PubMed identifier, and we state just as plainly what is known and what is not. You will not find dosages or protocols anywhere on this site.

The ground it plays on

Two very different things live under the same label here: serious research into mitochondria, cellular senescence and DNA repair, and a market of promises built on studies that were never replicated. Telling them apart is most of the work, and this is the area where it matters most to look at who signed each study.

What it is studied for

Immune balance, longevity.

There is a distinction that almost always gets lost. A compound being studied for something is not the same as achieving it. And even where it works in a dish or in a mouse, that says little about whether it works in a person or whether the benefit is worth the risk. The section below therefore carries more weight than everything above it.

What the human evidence says

It has been part of Russian clinical practice since 1982. A follow-up of 266 older adults published in 2003, which describes random assignment and placebo, reported fewer respiratory infections and lower mortality, and studies from 2021 and 2022 in severe COVID-19 linked it to more lymphocytes and less inflammation.

The limitation that matters most

Almost all the studies in people come from the same research setting and have yet to be repeated in other countries with registered trials. It is a bovine thymus extract with many components, so its composition depends on the manufacturing process and its pharmacokinetics have not been published.

Regulatory status

Registered as a drug in Russia (approved in the USSR in 1982) for immunodeficiency states, and used in other countries of the former Soviet Union. It has no FDA or EMA approval. It is not listed by name on the 2026 WADA Prohibited List; anyone who competes should confirm its status with their federation.

Status can change and varies by country. Always verify the rules in force where you live before drawing conclusions.

Cautions and context

Watch for any sign of allergy, because it is an extract of animal origin, and for new joint pain, rashes, or fever. With autoimmune disease or immunosuppressive treatment, the decision belongs with the specialist.

With autoimmune disease, a transplant, cancer under treatment, pregnancy, or breastfeeding, have a professional assess it before you start and while you are on it.

This is not medical advice. Any decision about a compound in this encyclopedia belongs to a healthcare professional who knows your history, what you already take and your specific situation. If something you are using produces a new symptom, that is not something to observe — it is something to consult.

What this page cannot give you

A reference page can take you this far. You know what Thymalin is and where its research stands, which already puts you ahead of most readers. Four questions remain that no encyclopedia can answer for you, because the answers depend on your own situation:

That is what the course is for

PeptiXtreme is ${CIF.LECCIONES} lessons that hand out no numbers. Each one ends with your starting point, what to watch along the way, the specific questions you take to a professional and the signals that mean stop. It includes per-module exams, a Certificate of Completion with a verifiable certificate ID, a Progress Tracker to follow how you are doing, and a human advisor you can actually write to.

Frequently asked questions

What is Thymalin?

A peptide preparation studied for its relationship with immune balance and rhythms associated with aging. It is a bovine thymus extract with many small peptides that supports T-lymphocyte maturation and tempers excessive inflammation. It is studied within the area of longevity/cellular.

Is there human evidence for Thymalin?

It has been part of Russian clinical practice since 1982. A follow-up of 266 older adults published in 2003, which describes random assignment and placebo, reported fewer respiratory infections and lower mortality, and studies from 2021 and 2022 in severe COVID-19 linked it to more lymphocytes and less inflammation.

Is it approved by any health agency?

Registered as a drug in Russia (approved in the USSR in 1982) for immunodeficiency states, and used in other countries of the former Soviet Union. It has no FDA or EMA approval. It is not listed by name on the 2026 WADA Prohibited List; anyone who competes should confirm its status with their federation.

What is the dose of Thymalin?

We do not publish dosages. This is not an oversight. No single figure works for everyone: the regimen depends on a person's medical history, on whatever medication they already take, and on the goal they are chasing, which is something a professional weighs with the case in front of them. What you can build is the ability to walk into that appointment knowing what to ask.

Where can I learn to evaluate this properly?

This page tells you what Thymalin is and what the evidence says. The PeptiXtreme course teaches the other half: what you would measure before considering anything, what you would watch, the specific questions you would take to a professional and when you would stop.
