Hexarelin: what it is and what the evidence says

A peptide of its family studied for a potent relationship with growth-hormone signaling. It activates the ghrelin receptor (GHSR-1a) in the hypothalamus and pituitary to release a high GH pulse, and it also binds the CD36 receptor in the heart.

How to read this page. It is written so you can check it: every claim about evidence hangs from a reference with its PubMed identifier, and we state just as plainly what is known and what is not. You will not find dosages or protocols anywhere on this site.

The ground it plays on

Hormones work in axes: a signal from the brain tells a gland to release another hormone, and so on down the chain, with brakes that shut the process off. Intervening at one point has consequences both upstream and downstream. That is why this is the group where professional assessment stops being a recommendation and becomes essential.

What it is studied for

Recovery, body composition, performance.

There is a distinction that almost always gets lost. A compound being studied for something is not the same as achieving it. And even where it works in a dish or in a mouse, that says little about whether it works in a person or whether the benefit is worth the risk. The section below therefore carries more weight than everything above it.

What the human evidence says

Its hormonal response was measured in controlled studies in healthy volunteers, older adults, children and adults with hypopituitarism, by the intravenous, subcutaneous, intranasal and oral routes. Small hospital studies showed an acute improvement in ejection fraction in healthy people, in adults with GH deficiency, in ischemic cardiomyopathy and during coronary bypass surgery.

The limitation that matters most

Nearly all studies measured effects over hours. The longest, lasting 16 weeks, showed a partial and reversible attenuation of the GH response, with no significant change in IGF-1 or body composition. Longer trials on recovery, performance and cardiac safety are still missing, as is a clear picture of what repeated rises in cortisol and prolactin mean.

Regulatory status

Not approved by any agency. Development reached phase 2 and it never came to market, and it does not appear on the FDA lists of bulk substances for compounding (checked in 2026). WADA names it in section S2 of the 2026 List as examorelin, prohibited at all times for anyone who competes.

Status can change and varies by country. Always verify the rules in force where you live before drawing conclusions.

Cautions and context

Keep an eye on cortisol, prolactin and deep sleep, because along with GH it raises ACTH, cortisol and prolactin. With continuous use its response fades partially and reversibly.

Have a professional assess it before you start if you have diabetes, high prolactin, heart disease, insomnia or a history of cancer, and during use to plan the phases and the breaks.

This is not medical advice. Any decision about a compound in this encyclopedia belongs to a healthcare professional who knows your history, what you already take and your specific situation. If something you are using produces a new symptom, that is not something to observe — it is something to consult.

What this page cannot give you

A reference page can take you this far. You know what Hexarelin is and where its research stands, which already puts you ahead of most readers. Four questions remain that no encyclopedia can answer for you, because the answers depend on your own situation:

That is what the course is for

PeptiXtreme is ${CIF.LECCIONES} lessons that hand out no numbers. Each one ends with your starting point, what to watch along the way, the specific questions you take to a professional and the signals that mean stop. It includes per-module exams, a Certificate of Completion with a verifiable certificate ID, a Progress Tracker to follow how you are doing, and a human advisor you can actually write to.

Frequently asked questions

What is Hexarelin?

A peptide of its family studied for a potent relationship with growth-hormone signaling. It activates the ghrelin receptor (GHSR-1a) in the hypothalamus and pituitary to release a high GH pulse, and it also binds the CD36 receptor in the heart. It is studied within the area of hormonal/sexual.

Is there human evidence for Hexarelin?

Its hormonal response was measured in controlled studies in healthy volunteers, older adults, children and adults with hypopituitarism, by the intravenous, subcutaneous, intranasal and oral routes. Small hospital studies showed an acute improvement in ejection fraction in healthy people, in adults with GH deficiency, in ischemic cardiomyopathy and during coronary bypass surgery.

Is it approved by any health agency?

Not approved by any agency. Development reached phase 2 and it never came to market, and it does not appear on the FDA lists of bulk substances for compounding (checked in 2026). WADA names it in section S2 of the 2026 List as examorelin, prohibited at all times for anyone who competes.

What is the dose of Hexarelin?

We do not publish dosages. This is not an oversight. No single figure works for everyone: the regimen depends on a person's medical history, on whatever medication they already take, and on the goal they are chasing, which is something a professional weighs with the case in front of them. What you can build is the ability to walk into that appointment knowing what to ask.

Where can I learn to evaluate this properly?

This page tells you what Hexarelin is and what the evidence says. The PeptiXtreme course teaches the other half: what you would measure before considering anything, what you would watch, the specific questions you would take to a professional and when you would stop.
